Students will complete a series of challenges related to trademarks and compare/contrast these tasks with the legitimate process of applying for a trademark.

Music to My Ears

Students will discuss the difference between sound and noise and how they are produced. Students will then be introduced to the 4 families of instruments and make predictions about how sound is produced from each of those. From these experiments, students will come up with a definition for how sound is produced. Students will then experiment with these instruments to see how changing certain parts, affects the pitch or amplification of the instruments. Finally, students will create their own instruments from household objects. This process will help them when creating a developing their own invention.
